Ted Weems And His Orchestra – Volume 1 - Big Boy!

this is the first of 3 lps on the greatly titled grannyphone label of ted weems. Some nice hot stuff here, all very late 20s sounding.
I also have volume 3, unfortunately I am missing volume 2 though so if anyone has it and would like to share that would be great.
Enjoy it!

  1. These sound earlier than the late 20's to me, here's one of my favorites from 1929: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Caxm5RosGcQ As always, thank you !

  2. wow, what a record that is! I hadn't heard that one before and I don't think it's on volume 3, maybe on number 2 that I don't have.
Side 1 is from the mid 20s, I should have been more clear about it, i think the first records on here were made in 1924 and infact i might have even been thinking of the other volume when I wrote that :d

  4. Thanks for sharing your music. Are these the same recordings as issued on Victor, or did he make separate recordings for the Grannyphone label?

  5. On re-reading your intro. I think I misunderstood - "Grannyphone" is the label of the LP, not of the originals 78s. OK - got it!
